We have been repairing Saabs since 1974. We are where the cars that the dealership cant repair, come to. We work with other independent and franchised Saab shops throughout the country. We have come up with repairs for Saabs that thousands of other shops have used.
Sludge Repair
We began encountering the sludging problem in 2000 right after the 9-3 Saabs were released. We began seeing Saabs coming in while still under warranty that were having multiple turbocharger failures. After the second replacement Saab stopped warrantying the turbos. It was up to us to find out why this was happening and come up with a solution. Since we knew that the turbos life blood was oil, we began looking at the oil feed lines. This is where we began to see sludging. Afterwards we removed the oil pan and found the beginning of all of the problems. We devised our own repair and update that we perfected over the next few years.
We realized that this was such a problem that we began removing the oil pan and updating every Saab that was sold on our lot. While thousands of other Saab owners were having engine failure almost none of the Saabs that we sold encountered this.
PCV Updates
Saab has had numerous updates of its PCV system to discourage sludging and increase turbo longevity. Unfortunately it took them 5 revisions to get it right.
SID Replacement
We began replacing SID displays in the 1994 Saab 900’s so when the 9-3 came out with almost every one failing we already had a handle on the problem. We began updating every SID display on every vehicle that we sold to prevent future failure. Recently we found a supplier that sells brand new SID displays with lifetime warranties.
ABS Module Replacement
Amplifier Repair
On the 2003 and newer Saabs called the sports sedan we were finding many cars with the batteries dying overnight. Eventually you would find that the radio and SID would quit as well. Since most shops around us didn’t have the Saab Scan Tool and CanDi module there was no way that they could begin to diagnose these cars. We found that the amplifiers underneath the driver’s seat was getting corroded and failing. This amplifier is extremely expensive from Saab so we found a way to bypass it so that the car was usable again. If you want to save a $1000 on this repair then you better come here rather than go to the dealership. ~CORRODED AMPLIFIER PICTURE
Front Suspension Coil Springs " CLUNK
Has your Saab Sports Sedan went through a large pothole and made a loud clunk? You may have even found a piece of metal coil spring that fell out of the front of your car. The rough upstate winters have created huge potholes and when you go through one there is so much force that we are finding the front coil springs breaking on the Saabs. We carry the coil springs in stock and we have the areas finest laser alignment machine in the area. We also have a full set of custom shims that we had made to align the rear suspension. We are only one of three shops in the country which car perform a rear suspension alignment on your Saab.
Headlights Keep Blowing
Do you headlights on your Saab 9-3 or 9-5 keep blowing? Have you replaced them many times and cant figure the problem out? We have the solution. On the backs of the headlight bulbs you are going to find that you terminals are very brittle and the plastic is cracking off. This is caused by excessive heat and excessive heat means excessive resistance caused by a loose plug. That looseness makes the bulbs burn
