Steve Smolen - 1999 Saab 9-3
Long time Volvo driver Steve with his 1986 Volvo 245 Wagon with 436k miles on it at his last inspection finally decided to upgrade to a newer Saab 9-3. While driving during one windy day Steve found out first hand why Saab is rated #1 in its class for overall safety. A huge tree fell on him while traveling at 60 MPH. Fortunately the roof structure of the Saabs are reinforced with steel beams incase of roll overs or the tree that crushed this car would have crushed Steve too.

Matt Quimby - 1999 Mercedes C230
Driving at 55 MPH on route 14 when a 20 ton waste disposal truck pulled out into the road in front of him. With no time to react matt drove right into the truck at full speed. If it wasn’t for the structure of the cars frame to take the force and the airbags to prevent Matt from slamming into the steering wheel things might have taken a turn for the worse.

Susan Greenberg - 2001 Volvo V70 XC
My two children, our dog and I were hit by a large commercial truck while en route to the Rochester Dandelion Festival in our 2000 Volvo Cross Country Wagon. As you can see from the photo the car did not survive. We all walked away without a scratch. While I never gave much thought to ABS brakes, Whiplash protection and crumple zones. I'm sure glad you guys did!

Bob Huff & Jane Donegan - 2001 Volvo S60 2.4T
We are writing to thank you for putting us in such a safe car. We have been driving Volvos consistently since 1972, when we purchased our first car. We were driving the 2001 Volvo S60 when a full size truck pulled out in front of us. We swerved so that we would not have a direct impact but still caught the front of our Volvo. The airbags immediately inflated but were very gentle. Glass was shattered all over but there were no shards. I just want you to know how much we appreciate driving a Volvo and you can be sure that we will be driving Volvo for life.

2003 Saab 9-3 SE - Matt Jenkins
My 4th Saab from Geneva Foreign & Sports and with everyone I realize more and more how close we all come to death every day. While sitting in traffic in Los Angels at rush hour I was just flipping through my cd collection when out of the corner of my eye I glanced a tractor trailer that didn’t look like it was going to stop. Unfortunately I had no where to go! I braced for the impact and thank god I had the whiplash protection built into my Saab seats. I walked away from this one with a sore neck and $11,000 in damage. I’m just glad I was in my Saab or it could have been much worse.
